Granita is a semi-frozen dessert made from sugar, water and various flavorings We always have an abundance of watermelons, cantalopes, honeydew melons and peaches in the summer from our farm.In the evenings you can always find us out by the bonfire with friends and neighbors relaxing after a long hot day. This is the perfect summer refresher to cool off.By using a basic granita you can adapt any fruits to a frozen margarita, colada or a refreshing treat... similar to a sorbet or Italian ice To make watermelon colada's add some frozen granita to a blender with rum to taste.. granish with lime

If you want a simple lemon or lime Italian ice, I've used bottled lemon or lime juice with success
