red white and blue shakes
This recipe was shared as a home show idea when I was a Longaberger consultant and the patriotic baskets came out for sale! It is so yummy, and so pretty, and so darn easy to make that everyone enjoys it. A plus, you give the kids a pinwheel to play with after they drink (I got plastic handled ones at the dollar store so they could be wiped off after being in the drink). Look for those old fashioned ice cream shop glasses, cause you are going to want a big glass!

10-12 shakes, depending on the size of your glass
Ingredients
- 4 quarts raspberry sherbet
- 1 gallon vanilla ice cream
- 1 gallon blueberry ice cream
- - fresh raspberries and blueberries to top the shake
- - red white and blue pinwheel for decoration if desired (and it is so very cute that way!)
How To Make red white and blue shakes
-
Step 1You are basically just layering ice cream into a glass. Soften raspberry sherbet on counter top 12-15 min until you can spread it, and place 1/2-3/4 cup in the bottom of the glass. Place glass in freezer 30 min or until sherbet is firm again. Repeat with vanilla ice cream, and return to freezer again until firm. Repeat with blueberry ice cream and freeze.
-
Step 2Remove from freezer 15 min before serving. Top with fresh berries and the pinwheel (or use patriotic colored drink umbrellas, but if you use a pinwheel the kids will have something to play with!).
