I read about this idea or something similar (I think in Bon Appetit magazine) and went ahead with my version, which may or may not be the same...But my family and I started a new tradition for the Fourth of July! This is so much fun; and kids both young and old love it!

Ingredients

1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
2 liters sprite, 7-up or lemon lime soda
1 - package of pop rocks candy/per person
8 - red, white and blue straws
8 - ice cream soda glasses

How To Make firecracker floats

Step 1

Place one scoop of ice cream into a soda glass. Sprinkle some Pop Rock candies on top...get some on the sides. Put another scoop on top, and sprinkle again. Squirt a dob of whipped topping on top. Insert straw. Serve it up. Happy Fourth of July!
