Spiced Chocolate

3 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup milk
14 oz. bittersweet chocolate
2 t. powdered sugar
1/4 t. ground cinnamon
freshly grated nutmeg, to taste
chile powder to taste


1Bring cream and milk to boil in heavy pan over medium heat. Whisk constantly as the mixture heats to build some froth. When milk is simmering, stir in powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has melted. Whisk vigorously for a few minutes until frothy. Pour into warmed mugs, scooping out the froth. Sprinkle with chile powder and serve at once. Serves 6
