An amazingly delicious hot chocolate. If your in the mood you can add a small splash of your favorite liqueur to your liking. Raspberry Chocolate or Kahlua are both good choices and Malibu rum isn't half bad either.

Ingredients For my best bittersweet hot chocolate

  • 4 c
    half-and-half, light cream, or whole milk
  • 3 oz
    semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 3 oz
    bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    dark-color corn syrup
  • your favorite liqueur (optional)
  • sweetened whipped cream
  • grated bittersweet chocolate

How To Make my best bittersweet hot chocolate

    In a 2-quart heavy saucepan combine half-and-half, semisweet chocolate, chopped bittersweet chocolate, and corn syrup. If using liqueur add to individual cups as desired. Cook and stir over medium heat until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.

    Serve in warmed latte mugs or bowls. If desired, top with sweetened whipped cream and sprinkle with grated bittersweet chocolate.
