This would also be called Hot Buttered Rum by some. Mom made this often. She passed away when I was 7, so I never tasted, but I remember the house smelling absolutely fantastic when she had this simmering for her guests.

- 1 quart jamaican rum
- 3 quarts sweet apple cider
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1 jar nutmeg

Step 1Dissolve sugar in boiling water, add cider and heat. Add rum and 2 generous teaspoons butter. Pour heated into mugs and sprinkle with nutmeg.
