This is how my grandfather made hot chocolate for us when we were kids.

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz.) can(s)
    evaporated milk
  • 1/3 c
    half and half
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 4 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • ·
    whipped cream (optional)
  • ·
    marshmallows (optional)

How to Make Hot Chocolate

Step-by-Step

  1. In a saucepan, whisk milk, half and half, vanilla, cocoa powder and sugar together until very well mixed.
  2. Heat on medium low until hot, stirring often.
  3. Pour into cups and serve.
  4. You can top with a dollop of whipped cream or marshmallows if desired.
