This freezes real well so I have it when people stop by in the cold months. I have also been known to give as presents in a basket with a couple of fancy mugs and a small bottle of spiced rum. I just keep the mixture in a small jelly jar in the fridge or freezer until the last minute when I put it in the basket.

Ingredients
- 1 pound real butter (no substitutes)
- 1 pound dark brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (freshly grated preferred)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
How To Make hot buttered rum mixture

Step 1Cream all ingredients together and put into a ziplock freezer bag. Freeze until you want to use it. Keeps a log time.

Step 2To serve: place 1 heaping Tablespoon of mixture into a mug. Add 1 1/2 ounces of dark or spiced rum. Fill mug with boiling water. Stir and serve hot. Great served with sweetened whip cream on top.
