Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 1/2 cups half and half
- 1 cup chocolate chips (milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white - your choice)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/2-1 teaspoon peppermint extract or peppermint schnapps to taste (depending on who your serving)
How To Make creamy peppermint hot chocolate

Step 1Add milk and half and half to a medium pan and heat over MED heat until simmering around the edges, but not boiling. Lower the heat slightly, and add in chocolate. Whisk continuously until chocolate is melted.

Step 2Add in cornstarch and peppermint extract or schnapps and continue whisking until smooth and velvety. Serve with whipped cream, marshmallows, peppermint sticks or crushed candy canes.

Step 3FOR HOT WHITE CHOCOLATE: Replace regular chocolate chips with white chocolate chips and continue with the recipe
