This is an easy version of the traditional English wassail. It's a snap to make and leaving it in the percolator keeps it warm and ready to serve.

Ingredients

  • NOTE: YOU WILL NEED A 30 CUP PERCOLATOR FOR THIS
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 4 - cinnamon sticks, broken up
  • 4 teaspoons whole cloves
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 9 cups cranberry juice
  • 54 ounces apple juice
  • 6 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 4-1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup bourbon or port (optional)

How To Make coffee pot wassail (sallye)

  • Step 1
    Place brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves and salt in the top basket. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    Place all remaining ingredients in the pot.
  • Step 3
    Return basket to top of pot.
  • Step 4
    Switch pot on and percolate as you normally would coffee or other beverages. Wait for the wonderful smells to surround you.
