Ingredients

- 1 cup sugar
- 2 quarts cold water
- zest (cut in strips with a citrus zester)
- juice from 2 lemons
- 5 regular -size tea bags

How To Make southern sweet tea

Step 1

In a saucepan, bring sugar, water and lemon juice to a boil, stirring regularly.

Step 2

Remove from heat and toss in lemon zest strips and tea bags.
Step 3

Allow to steep for 30 minutes. Strain and then chill.
