I hate eggnog but my son loves it. I found this recipe and it is fabulous but if you forget and allow it to go to a boil, you better have a very fine sieve available or the eggnog will be very gritty.

Ingredients
- 4 cups milk or half and half
- 5 - whole cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 12 1/2 - egg yolks
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 1/2 cups light rum
- 4 cups cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
How To Make eggnog

Step 11. Combine milk or half & half with 1/2 tsp. vanilla and cinnamon in a sauce pan and heat over lowest heat setting for 5 min. Slowly bring mixture to a boil.

Step 22. In a large bowl combine egg yolks and sugar. Whisk together until fluffy. Whisk hot milk slowly into the eggs. Pour mixture into saucepan. Cook over medium heart stirring constantly for 3 min. or until thick. Do not allow mixture to boil. Strain to remove cloves and let cool for at least 1 hour.

Step 33. Stir in rum, cream, 2 tsp. vanilla and nutmeg. Refrigerate overnight.
