Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cocoa powdered
- 1 teaspoon flour
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 pinches ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground or crushed ancho pepper
- 1 stick cinnamon, crumbled
- 4 1/2 cups milk
- 2-3 tablespoons cold milk (for paste)
- 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- - whipped cream for garnish
How To Make mayan hot chocolate

Step 1Heat the milk to near boiling in saucepan.

Step 2Sift together the cocoa powder and flour in small bowl. Slowly mix in the 2-3 teaspoons cold milk and stir until it becomes paste. Once smooth, add the other spices and sugar. Mix well. Stir constantly & mix paste into the hot milk until smooth.

Step 3Before serving, strain out the cloves and cinnamon off the top and add powdered sugar and vanilla. Garnish with whipped cream.
