This might have been the worlds first and oldest flavored coffee. Wether it is or not, it's delicious and something to be sipped slowly and enjoyed. Warning: This is authentic and it's very sweet and you might want to cut back on the sugar. An Ibrik is ideal but a saucepan will do the job just fine.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 liter about 1 pint water
  • 2 tablespoons ground arabica coffee beans
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (no doubt a more modern addition but a delicious one)

How To Make arabian coffee

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and heat until foam gathers on top.
  • Step 2
    Do not pass through a filter.
  • Step 3
    Stir it up before you serve it.
