Ingredients
- 1 gallon apple cider
- 1 small orange
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons whole cloves
- - cinnamon sticks for garnish (if desired)
How To Make hot spiced cider

Step 1Poke the cloves into the orange. Be sure the buds are still visible.

Step 2Place the cider in a large pot over medium heat. Stir in the allspice, nutmeg and brown sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Bring to a slow boil.

Step 3Add the clove covered orange to the cider. Reduce heat to simmer. Cover and cook for 20 minutes. Remove the orange.

Step 4Serve hot in mugs. Garnish with cinnamon sticks if desired.
