summertime sangria

This is a family favorite, taught to my father by a grocery store tycoon. It may sound weird, but it's delicious! Super easy, it needs to be prepared a day or two ahead of time.

Ingredients For summertime sangria

  • 32 oz
    orange pop, eg fanta, crush, etc
  • 16 oz
    red wine, dry
  • 1
    orange, sliced finely
  • 1
    lemon, sliced finely
  • oranges, peaches or strawberries to garnish

How To Make summertime sangria

  • 1
    Pour red wine into large jug, with a lid. Very slowly add the orange pop. Give a light stir and set aside.

    Slice whole orange and lemon finely. Add slices to jug. Stir gently to combine. Cover.

    Refrigerate at least 24 hours. Serve garnished with some freshly sliced strawberries, peaches or oranges.
