Ingredients

  • 10 small lemons
  • 1 bottle 750 -ml volka
  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar

How To Make limencello

  • Step 1
    using a vegetable peeler, remove peel from lemons in long strips (reserve lemons for other use) remove pith from peels
  • Step 2
    Place peels and Vodka in a large 2 quart pitcher cover with plastic wrap. steep for four days or longer at room temperature
  • Step 3
    stir water and sugar in large sauce pan over medium heat until sugar dissolves ( about 5 min)
  • Step 4
    cool completely and then pour sugar mixture over vodka mixture let stand overnight strain limoncello through a mesh strainer . discard peels. pour into bottle. seal bottles and refrigerate until cold at least 4 hours or up to one month
