Havana Cooler is a refreshing and popular rum-based cocktail that originated in Cuba. Dozens of variations exist, but ginger ale is the traditional mixer used for the Havana Cooler. But you can use Sprite or other lemon-lime carbonated soda in place of the ginger ale, if you prefer.

    white rum
  • 2
    ice cubes
  • 1
    fresh sprig mint
  • 2 1/2-3 oz
    ginger ale

How to Make Havana Cooler

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine rum, ice cubes and mint in a short glass (old-fashioned).
  2. Top with ginger ale, and serve.
