My family and friends have enjoyed this recipe for many years. An alternate recipe substitutes 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk for the evaporated milk and sugars. Slainte.

Ingredients

  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 can(s)
    (12 fl. oz.) evaorated milk
  • 4 oz
    irish or rye whiskey (use more or less to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp
    almond extract
  • 2 Tbsp
    unsweetened chocolate (finely grated)
  • 2 Tbsp
    cocoa powder (100% cacao; unsweetened)
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    cane sugar

How to Make Doyle's Homemade Irish Cream

Step-by-Step

  1. Grate the unsweetened bar of chocolate into shavings.
  2. Blend the remaining ingredients until well mixed.
  3. Fold in the chocolate shavings and blend again.
  4. Chill well before serving. Keep refrigerated.
