My family and friends have enjoyed this recipe for many years. An alternate recipe substitutes 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk for the evaporated milk and sugars. Slainte.

Ingredients

  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 can (12 fl. oz.) evaorated milk
  • 4 ounces irish or rye whiskey (use more or less to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened chocolate (finely grated)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (100% cacao; unsweetened)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cane sugar

How To Make doyle's homemade irish cream

  • Step 1
    Grate the unsweetened bar of chocolate into shavings.
  • Step 2
    Blend the remaining ingredients until well mixed.
  • Step 3
    Fold in the chocolate shavings and blend again.
  • Step 4
    Chill well before serving. Keep refrigerated.
