My family and friends have enjoyed this recipe for many years. An alternate recipe substitutes 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk for the evaporated milk and sugars. Slainte.

Ingredients

(12 fl. oz.) evaorated milk
4 oz
irish or rye whiskey (use more or less to taste)
1/4 tsp
pure vanilla extract
1/4 tsp
almond extract
2 Tbsp
unsweetened chocolate (finely grated)
2 Tbsp
cocoa powder (100% cacao; unsweetened)
1 c
heavy cream
1/4 c
brown sugar
1/4 c
cane sugar

How to Make Doyle's Homemade Irish Cream

Step-by-Step

  • 1Grate the unsweetened bar of chocolate into shavings.
  • 2Blend the remaining ingredients until well mixed.
  • 3Fold in the chocolate shavings and blend again.
  • 4Chill well before serving. Keep refrigerated.
