I was fortunate enough to have gotten this recipe years ago. I have served it to all my guests and given bottles for gifts. Rave reviews are 100%. I also included my Kahlua recipe. Both of these are real money savers, which many of us need about now...

Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 4 cups white sugar
- 3/4 cup instant coffee (fresh jar)
- 1 - vanilla bean
- 4 cups rum (bottom shelf is fine)
How To Make tia maria (homemade)

Step 1Bring water and sugar until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat.

Step 2Add coffee granules slowly, continually stirring. Add rum. Slit vanilla bean down the center with a knife and add to the mixture.
