This is a popular tequila and grapefruit cocktail from Mexico. There are a lot of different versions of this cocktail, but I really like it with the grapefruit soda because it's so refreshing. But I'm looking forward to trying it again (and again) using fresh grapefruit juice.

salt, for rim
2 1/2 oz
1 squeeze
lime juice
6 oz
ruby red grapfruit juice or grapefruit soda (like fresca, squirt, or jarritos)
lime wedge, for garnish
1 c
ice cubes

How to Make Paloma


  • 1Turn highball glass upside down and dip rim in water to moisten rim. Then dip rim in salt to coat rim with salt crystals.
  • 2Add ice to highball glass. Add tequila and lime juice, then top with grapefruit juice or soda. Stir.
  • 3Garnish with a wedge of lime, and serve.
