This is a popular tequila and grapefruit cocktail from Mexico. There are a lot of different versions of this cocktail, but I really like it with the grapefruit soda because it's so refreshing. But I'm looking forward to trying it again (and again) using fresh grapefruit juice.

Ingredients

  • - salt, for rim
  • 2 1/2 ounces tequila
  • 1 squeeze - lime juice
  • 6 ounces ruby red (pink) grapfruit juice or grapefruit soda (like fresca, squirt, or jarritos)
  • 1 - lime wedge, for garnish
  • 1 cup ice cubes

How To Make paloma

  • Step 1
    Turn highball glass upside down and dip rim in water to moisten rim. Then dip rim in salt to coat rim with salt crystals.
  • Step 2
    Add ice to highball glass. Add tequila and lime juice, then top with grapefruit juice or soda. Stir.
  • Step 3
    Garnish with a wedge of lime, and serve.
