    powdered sugar
  • ·
    crushed ice
  • 2 oz
    white bourbon whiskey
  • ·
    sprigs of fresh mint
  • ·
    tall slender glass
  • ·

How to Make New Orleans Mint Julep


  1. Put several mint leaves into the glass. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top and add enough water to dissolve. Crush gently with a soon and stir to create syrup. Pour half the syrup into tall glass. Add the crushed ice to half filled glass. Add remaining syrup, then fill to top with more crushed ice. Pour bourbon, the top with mint sprigs.
