Ingredients

  • 1 bottle burgundy or claret
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 - thinly sliced lemon
  • 3 - cinnamon sticks
  • 3 - whole cloves

How To Make mulled spiced wine

  • Step 1
    In a large saucepan, dissolve the sugar in the boiling water, stirring well.
  • Step 2
    Add the wine, cinnamon sticks and cloves.
  • Step 3
    Pour into slow cooker with the heat on low. Stir well.
  • Step 4
    Heat for at least an hour. Do not allow mixture to boil.
  • Step 5
    Serve in mugs.
