This is a well balanced drink; not too sweet and not too tart. And so simple to make! I stopped buying mixers since I keep lime juice in the fridge anyway!

This recipe is for one drink, but it is so easy to multiply. Equal amounts of tequila, lime juice and simple syrup, plus 2/3 of the same amount of triple sec.

You can add as much ice as you like. I like mine cold, but not frozen or on the rocks, so I blend the ice.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz
    jose cuervo gold tequila
  • 1 oz
    triple sec
  • 1 1/2 oz
    lime juice (fresh or bottled)
  • 1 1/2 oz
    simple syrup
  • ·
    crushed ice
  • ·
    lime slices
  • ·
    salt for rim of glass

How to Make Margaritas from scratch

Step-by-Step

  1. rub rim of glass with lime slice
  2. dip rim of glass in salt (or sprinkle it on)
  3. Mix first 4 ingredients in blender
  4. add a handful of ice
  5. blend til smooth
  6. you may add more ice for a frozen drink if desired
  7. pour into prepared glass
  8. relax and enjoy!
