    lemons
  • 1 bottle
    vodka (750ml)
  • 3 1/2 c
    water
  • 2 1/2 c
    sugar

How to Make Limoncello ( Kat )

Step-by-Step

  1. Peel lemons, do not get any of the white pith on the peels,( I use my veggie peeler) place peels in a 1/2 gallon plastic or glass jar, pour the bottle of vodka over, cover with plastic wrap or lid, let set for 72 hours.
  2. In a medium sauce pan over medium heat add water and sugar, heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Let cool about 20 minutes and pour into vodka and lemon peels. Let set for 24 hours, strain with a mesh strainer place into jars and chill.
  3. ***NOTE*** after I peeled the lemons I juiced them and poured the juice into ice trays to use in other drinks or dishes that need lemon juice.
