A nice variation of the Margarita. I had this for the first time at Macaroni Grill and this is my DIY version after many fun attempts.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce amaretto disaronno
  • 1 1/2 ounces tequila reposado
  • 1/2 ounce grand marnier or cointreau
  • 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed

How To Make italian margarita

  • Step 1
Use the squeezed lime shell to moisten the rim of the glass, then dip into sugar to coat the rim.
  • Step 2
Put all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with some ice and shake until frosty. Strain into the prepared glass.
  • Step 3
You can also make this frozen but add a bit more Amaretto so the taste doesn't get diluted. Sometimes I use Amaretto to moisten the rim instead of lime.
