1Tie lemon peel, allspice, cloves and cinnamon in a small piece of cheesecloth.
Combine salt, sugar and cider in saucepan over low heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add spice bag and bring mixture to a boil, then lower heat and simmer
10 minutes. Remove spice bag. Serve hot in mugs, topped with light sprinkle of nutmeg. Makes 2 quarts.
