In my notes I have that the total amount of rum used for the full mixture is 24 oz. rum. So if you make for many, then I would have a big pot of boiling water! 12 cups of water will probably be more than needed. Suspect though that most will just enjoy a cup and refrigerate the rest until another night for another cup.

- THE MIXTURE TO REFRIGERATE--KEEPS SEVERAL DAYS
- 1 stick butter, melted
- - 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- - 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 cup vanilla ice cream
- WHEN READY TO DRINK
- 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture
- 2 ounces rum or a jigger
- - boiling water
