My friends and I are HUGE Kalhua fans..So we were very happy when a friend gave me this recipe many years ago..I even make it at Christmas and give a bottle as a gift with some homemade cookies. The biggest obstacle is finding pretty bottles to put it into.

Ingredients For homemade kalhua

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 3 c
    water
  • 12 tsp
    instant coffee powder
  • 1 qt
    vodka
  • 3 Tbsp
    vanilla

How To Make homemade kalhua

    Simmer sugar,Water and coffee for 20 minutes. Let cool and then add vanilla and vodka.

    Pour into bottles and enjoy...I usually let it stand for a couple of days before using, but you can use it right away.
