1 1/2 to 2 cwater

3 to 4 csugar

3/4 cinstant coffee crystals

2 c100 proof vodka

2 Tbsppure vanilla extract
How to Make Homemade Kahlua Liqueur
- COOKING PART: Mix Water & Coffee Crystals. Heat & stir until coffee & sugar has dissolved. Cool to room temperature.
- NOT COOKING PART: Once cooled, add the Vodka & Vanilla Extract. Pour into bottle of choice. (i have used an old syrup bottle for this). Cap it. And let it sit for at least 6 weeks, if you can. Store in a cool, dark place. Not the fridge. Pantry or a cabinet should work.
I don't think I ever had to strain this version of Kahlua. - NOTE: If you find it too sweet, then next time add less sugar. If not sweet enough, then next time add more. I doubt you will think its not sweet enough. Seems like I prefer the less sweet.
