A take-off on the classical Southern Milt Julep.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces good kentucky bourbon
  • 1-1/2 ounce elderflower liqueur
  • 1 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce agave nectar
  • 10 - fresh mint leaves
  • 1 - thin lemon slice (for garnish)

How To Make elderflower julep

  • Step 1
    In a tall glass, add eight torn mint leaves and lemon juice, then add agave nectar and liqueur. Stir to blend.
  • Step 2
    Fill glass with crushed ice, stir to blend.
  • Step 3
    Pour bourbon over top of ice, stir again.
  • Step 4
    Add more crushed ice to fill the glass,
  • Step 5
    Garnish with remaining two mint leaves and thin slice of lemon.
