This humble drink began as a Sicilian Slushy; however, I did not like how the traditional gin in this recipe blended with the Campari. So, I switched to vodka, and made a few other modifications… Hence the name: Sicilian/Russian Slushy. The perfect cocktail for a Mid-Summer’s eve by the pond. It will make 4 good-sized cocktails, but it is easy to divide down, if you only want one or two. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

How To Make drink essentials: sicilian/russian slushy

  • Step 1
    PREP/PREPARE
  • Step 2
For this recipe, you will need a good blender.
  • Step 3
All vodkas are not created equal, I used a plain vodka (non-flavored), and used Grey Goose, because that is what I had on hand. If you are going to use a flavored vodka, I would recommend orange, or lemon flavor.
  • Step 4
Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
  • Step 5
Add all of the ingredients; except the lemon slices, to a blender, and blend until smooth.
  • Step 6
Taste, and add more sweet or tart elements, if needed.
  • Step 7
    PLATE/PRESENT
  • So yummy
    Step 8
Pour into glasses, garnish with the lime slices, and serve. Enjoy.
  • Stud Muffin
    Step 9
Keep the faith, and keep drinking… err, cooking.
