I found this recipe on line and adjusted to my taste. It's named after the Swedish wooden painted horses called Dala. It's a Scandinavian twist on the Moscow Mule. You an get lingonberry syrup at Ikea or make your own (I've posted a recipe). If you can't get lingonberry products, cranberry or blackberry can be substituted!

Ingredients

  • 1 oz
    lingonberry or other tart berry syrup
  • 1/2 oz
    fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz
    vodka
  • ·
    crushed ice
  • 4 - 6 oz
    ginger beer
  • ·
    lime slices, garnich

How to Make Dala Horse Cocktail

Step-by-Step

  1. Pour lingonberry syrup into the bottom of the glass.
  2. Stir in lime juice and vodka.
  3. Fill a Collins glass or a mule mug with crushed ice, then slowly pour in the ginger beer.
  4. Stirring gently before drinking. Garnish with a lime slice, if desired.
