brown sugar "tom and jerry" christmas cocktail
This vintage drink has died out too soon. Let's bring back this tasty, Christmas beverage with all the nostalgia it represents. This was the first year my husband and I have ever made/tried it. It won't be the last. I was inspired to make this after catching a glimpse of the popular Tom and Jerry punch bowls and mugs from the 60s and before. If anyone wants to send me an early Christmas present....

How To Make brown sugar "tom and jerry" christmas cocktail
-
Step 1Hand beat 9 egg whites until creamy and stiff. Then add 3/4 cup of dark brown sugar and continue to beat until fluffy.
-
Step 2In a separate mixing bowl, beat yolks, vanilla, spices, sugar, and salt. Beat until well combined.
-
Step 3Fold yolks into egg whites.
-
Step 4This can be stored in the refrigerator at this point.
-
Step 5When ready to serve, heat milk in the stove, but do not scald.
-
Step 6In a mug, add 3 tablespoons of your Tom and Jerry batter, 1-2 tablespoons of spiced rum, 1-2 tablespoons of honey brandy, and fill the rest of the mug with hot milk.
-
Step 7Give a quick stir and serve. Just omit the rum and brandy when serving to children. Some prefer bourbon to brandy, but the choice is yours. I recommend the honey brandy.
