Bramble is an English creation, first introduced in London in the 1980s by creative mixologist Dick Bradsell (known for his many other innovative cocktail creations) who was working at Fred's Club in downtown Soho. The cocktail is poured over crushed ice and creates a 'trickling down' effect that's similar to the popular Gin Fizz. The Bramble is great in the springtime, when berries are at their freshest. If you can't find crème de mûre, you can use crème de cassis (black current liqueur) in a pinch, though there'll be a slight flavor difference.
