Created in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in the 1950s, this is a longstanding classic. While it can be made with a variety of rums - dark, aged, spiced, white, coconut - you can use a combination of whatever rums you like.

  • 1 1/2 oz
    coconut cream (such as coco lopez)
  • 1 1/2 oz
    pineapple juice (see note below)
  • 1 oz
    aged rum
  • 1 oz
    coconut rum
  • ·
    splash coconut milk, optional
  • ·
    pineapple wedge, garnish

How to Make Blended Piña Colada


  1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender cup. Add 1 cup of ice. Blend on High until smooth.
  2. Pour contents into a tiki glass or tall glass. Garnish with the pineapple wedge.
  3. Note:
    Use canned pineapple chunks instead of pineapple juide. It's thicker and more flavorful.
