A profusion of blackberries,in the wild,on farms, and in backyards, ripens through out the midwest in late summer.you can drink this cordial straight up,but i prefer to use it to make what i call a prairie kir; i place a tablespoon of the cordial and a fresh or preserved blackberry in the bottom of a wine glass and top up with a dry white wine.
