I ran across these interesting "Homemade Spirits" in an old magazine of mine. I have not tried these..I don't drink alcohol per say.., but am happy to share with those who might want to give them a try. I will also be posting a few recipes that will call for some of the homemade liqueur's to be added in them..such as a Fruit bread and butter spread.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups coarsely chopped apple
  • 2 cups brandy
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 - inch stick cinnamon, broken

How To Make apple cordial liqueur

  • Step 1
    In a large jar with a screw-type lid, combine apple, brandy, sugar and cinnamon; cover tightly. Invert jar. Let stand for 24 hours. Repeat turning process till sugar dissolves. Store in cool, dark place for 4-6 weeks. Strain through cheesecloth into bottles; cover. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
