8 ozfresh brewed hot coffee (strong)
·sugar and cream, to taste
1 1/2 ozfrangelico or other hazelnut liqueur
1 1/2 ozkirsch (cherry brandy)
2 Tbspwhippped cream
·a dusting of fresh grated nutmet, for garnish
·dark chocolate shavings, for garnish
How to Make Alpine Coffee
- Pour coffee into a large coffee mug.
- Add cream and sugar to taste (optional).
- Stir in the Frangelico and kirsch.
- Top with whipped cream, and grate nutmeg (about 3 to 4 "scratches") on top of the whipped cream. Garnish with a few chocolate shavings, and serve immediately while coffee is still hot.
