These cookies are a huge hit with my family and friends, my daughter has given them as gifts to her friends at Christmas. They actually taste better when cool, rather than right out of the oven.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 8 - 10 - fun size snickers, cut into 3 or 4 pieces each

How To Make snickers cookies

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 375F. Combine butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until fluffy, stir in egg and vanilla, mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, add to butter mixture, mix well.
  • Step 2
Roll dough into 1” balls, tuck a Snickers piece into each. Place on greased cookie sheet 2” apart, bake for 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown, do not overbake. Take sheet from oven, slightly flatten (gently tap) each cookie with a metal spatula, wait about 1 minute before moving to wire rack to cool. Yield: 28-30 cookies.
  • Step 3
Easier variation: Use Snack Size Hershey Milk Chocolate bars broken into sections in place of Snickers. Do not tuck candy inside dough balls, just press into cookies as they are taken from oven.
