I love love love Banana Pudding! It is my all-time favorite southern dessert!! Eating it warm, right after I make it is the absolute best!! It is really easy and quick to make! I've tried other recipes that try to cut corners but, in my opinion, this is the best recipe!! Yummmmm!!!

How to Make Southern Banana Pudding


  • 1Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a heavy saucepan. Beat egg yolks and milk, mixing well. Stir into dry ingredients, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth and thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  • 2Layer one-third of the vanilla wafers in a 4 quart baking dish. Slice 2 bananas and layer over the wafers. Pour one-third of the filling over bananas. Repeat layers twice. Serve immediately or it can be served after cooling in the refrigerator.
