Delicious chocolate pudding made the old-fashioned way.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk, divided
  • 3 tablespoons corn starch
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • flaky Maldon salt

How To Make salted double chocolate pudding

  • Step 1
    Mix the cocoa powder, corn starch, and 1/2 milk and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Melt the chocolate in a double boiler set over simmering water. Slowly stir in the sugar and remaining milk.
  • Step 3
    Cook, whisking for 3 minutes, then add the corn starch mixture.
  • Step 4
    Increase the heat and whisk until thickened. Cover the double boiler and turn the heat to low, and cook for about 10 minutes without stirring.
  • Step 5
    Remove from heat and whisk in the butter 1 Tbsp at a time. Stir in the vanilla.
  • Step 6
    Pour into 4 bowls. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit at room temperature until cooled.
  • Step 7
    Sprinkle a tiny bit of flaky salt. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours. Enjoy.
