Ilo Rhines - this recipe comes from Great Grandma Ella Rowell. Some of the tings she cooked a lot of like "johnny cake", pumpkin pie and squash our Dad didn't care for, but the Rice Pudding remained a favorite. Grandma Jennie always brought it to Christmas dinners, summer picnics, etc.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rice (not instant)
- 1 quart milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup raisins
- - butter
- - nutmeg
How To Make rice pudding

Step 1Mix and stir all ingredients until sugar is dissolved.

Step 2Pour into buttered 9 x 9 pan.

Step 3Sprinkle top with nutmeg. Dot top with butter.

Step 4Bake for 1 hr (350 for 1/2 hr, 325 for 1/2 hr). Do not stir in oven.
