Ingredients
- 2 pounds bread
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 - eggs
- - grated rind of an orange
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sultanas
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground anise
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups almond milk
How To Make pudina tal-ob (maltese bread pudding)

Step 1Cut the bread into pieces, place in a bowl, cover with milk to soak for an hour. Mix all the other ingredients together in a bowl, add the bread and continue to stir till all the mixture is well combined.

Step 2Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake in a 400 degree oven for approximately 40 minutes being sure to check by inserting a skewer in the center a few times. Ff the pudding is cooked, this should come out clean and the pudding will be firm.

Step 3The pudina may be eaten warm or cold.
