Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 3 - eggs, beaten
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 4 - slices bread without crust
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- dash nutmeg
- 1/2 cup raisins, optional
How To Make old fashioned bread pudding

Step 1Heat milk over low heat until hot, but not boiling, in a bowl.

Step 2Combine eggs, sugar & salt, stir well.

Step 3Gradually stir 1/4 of hot milk to the egg mixture & stir in.

Step 4Add remaining milk, stiring constantly. Stir in vanilla.

Step 5Place bread in buttered baking dish.

Step 6Sprinkle raisins over bread about 2 qt. size.

Step 7Pour the milk mixture over bread.

Step 8Combine cinnamon & nutmeg, sprinkle over pudding mixture.

Step 9Bake uncovered at 300 for 50 minutes or until the knife comes out clean. Serve warm with vanilla sauce, if desired.
