my favorite bread pudding
I love bread pudding and when I found this recipe, I knew it was the one! Quick and easy to make. Can be eaten plain or with vanilla or bourbon sauce spooned over it.

Ingredients
- 6 slices day-old bread
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup raisins, optional
- 4 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cups milk or light cream
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make my favorite bread pudding

Step 1Heat oven to 350°F.

Step 2Break bread into small pieces in an 8" square baking dish. Drizzle melted butter over the bread. If desired, sprinkle with raisins.

Step 3In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk or cream, sugar, cinnamon (if using), and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Pour over bread and, using a spoon, lightly push down until bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture.

Step 4Place pan of mixture into a larger pan. Fill larger pan with up to 1" of water.

Step 5Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the top springs back when lightly tapped. Serve warm or cold, with or without sauce.
