Ingredients
- CAKE
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup raisins (just regular sunmaid raisins)
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1/2 cup sour milk (buttermilk substitute) * to make sour milk, add 1 tbsp vinegar to ½ cup milk and let stand until it thickens, then add to your dry ingredients.
- SAUCE
- 1 1/3 cups boiling water
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make mum's half hour pudding

Step 1CAKE: Mix dry ingredients and raisins in a bowl. Put this mix into a greased pudding baking dish. (small round casserole dish).

Step 2SAUCE: Pour 1 1/3 cups boiling water into a heat-safe bowl, add 1 cup brown sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. Mix this together and pour over batter.

Step 3Bake in moderate oven for 30 minutes or so. (Mum says moderate oven is about 350F)
