- 1 quart milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 6 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup sugar

Step 1Use just enough milk to dissolve cornstarch. Add remaining milk to saucepan and dissolve sugar over low heat. Bring to a boil and add cornstarch. Boil 2 min then add vanilla. Spread onto a platter to cool. A platter allows it to cool quickly. After completely cooled, mash it with a ricer or hand mixer. Do not use a blender. Fill shells with a table knife or pastry bag. Decorate by dipping ends in finely chopped, green tinted pistachio nuts or half nuts and half maraschino cherries.
