Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 can evaporated milk 14 oz
  • 1 can condensed milk 12 oz
  • 1 box 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature

How To Make homemade flan

  • Step 1
    In a heavy saucepan, cook and stir sugar and water over medium-high heat until boiling,once boiling reduce to medium -low heat and let stand **DONT NOT MIX** til sugar turns dark brown, about 15 minutes. Careful not to burn. Quickly pour into an ungreased pie pan or souffle dish, tilting to coat the bottom; let stand for 10 minutes.
  • Step 2
    In a bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until thoroughly combined. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour over caramelized sugar.
  • Step 3
    Place the dish in a larger baking pan. Pour boiling water into larger pan to a depth of 1 in. Bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until center is just set (mixture will jiggle)
  • Step 4
    Remove dish from a larger pan to a wire rack; cool for 1 hour. Refrigerate overnight. Place a plate over the top of the pie pan, and quickly flip onto the plate, slice like a pie and serve. Enjoy
