Ingredients For hawaiian chocolate pies

12individual graham cracker pie shells

1 can14-oz. can coconut milk

1 cmilk
-
1 csugar
-
1 Tbspcoconut extract (or to taste)

7/8 ccocoa powder
-
1/2 ccornstarch
-
whipped cream
-
1/2 cshredded coconut
-
1 cwater
How To Make hawaiian chocolate pies

1Dissolve cornstarch in water. Heat 14 ounces of coconut milk, regular milk, sugar, extract and shredded coconut in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

2Gradually add cornstarch mixture to the pan, stirring with a whisk until thickened. Remove from heat and cool.

3Melt chocolate in a double boiler or in a microwave. Pour half of the coconut filling into a bowl. Add the melted chocolate to the pan with the remaining filling. Let the filling cool before assembling the layered pie.

4Evenly portion the chocolate coconut filling in the bottom of each of the 12 pie shells for the bottom layer. Spoon the coconut filling on top of the chocolate layer.

5Garnish each pie with whipped cream. Chill before serving. Allow to come to room temp (if desired) before serving.
