Ingredients
- 12 - individual graham cracker pie shells
- 1 can 14-oz. can coconut milk
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon coconut extract (or to taste)
- 7/8 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- - whipped cream
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup water
How To Make hawaiian chocolate pies

Step 1Dissolve cornstarch in water. Heat 14 ounces of coconut milk, regular milk, sugar, extract and shredded coconut in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Step 2Gradually add cornstarch mixture to the pan, stirring with a whisk until thickened. Remove from heat and cool.

Step 3Melt chocolate in a double boiler or in a microwave. Pour half of the coconut filling into a bowl. Add the melted chocolate to the pan with the remaining filling. Let the filling cool before assembling the layered pie.

Step 4Evenly portion the chocolate coconut filling in the bottom of each of the 12 pie shells for the bottom layer. Spoon the coconut filling on top of the chocolate layer.

Step 5Garnish each pie with whipped cream. Chill before serving. Allow to come to room temp (if desired) before serving.
